Introduction

After completing an undergraduate engineering degree in computer science in India, I moved to Los Angeles to earn a Master’s degree in Computer Science. I then moved to Washington DC, where I worked as a software engineer for over six years. The thought of going back to school for an MBA had been on my mind for quite a while and in 2013 I moved to the United Kingdom to earn an MBA from the University of Oxford. You can read about my experience as an MBA student by visiting http://oxonian2013mba.wordpress.com/

I loved working in the technology sector and had always hoped to return to it once I was done with my MBA. I happened to discover the Product Manager role and it intrigued me as it seemed to be a perfect fit for what I was looking to do. So why write about product management when I have absolutely no experience in the field? My hope is that it will be a useful guide for those who are looking to make a similar transition. I plan to share my thoughts as I research the role, prepare for interview, and hopefully get down to work as a product manager. I also hope that it will be interesting for readers to watch how my thoughts evolve as I continue on this path.
